Terms and Conditions

Please read my Terms & Conditions very carefully when you are considering booking me for a talk or workshop or joining me on one of my courses.

As a small business, I pride myself on my customer service, so please give me a call if you have any queries or questions about any of my workshops, courses or classes. 

Weekend & Day Workshops and Courses – in person and online

• These can be booked online
• To secure a place on the course, fees are payable on booking. Unpaid bookings cannot be held.
• Sorry, fees paid are non-refundable.
• Green Man Quilts reserves the right to cancel or change the date of courses.
• The course content provided is an outline. The amount of work completed will depend on your pre-existing skills and pace of work.
• Tuition outside the course dates will be charged extra.
• Cancellations –
  • We are sorry but sometimes we have to cancel due to lack of demand, if we cancel a full refund will be given.
  • If you need to cancel, we cannot give refunds except where it has been possible to fill your place. In this instance an admin fee of 20% may be charged

Talks and Workshops for your group

• You can contact me by telephone or contact form to discuss availability.
• A non-refundable booking fee of £50 should be made to secure your Workshop/Talk.  This charge will be deducted from the total cost
• If the cost of the Workshop/Talk is less than £50 then full payment is required at the time of booking
• Please note that payment of the booking fee signifies acceptance of the full terms and conditions below and an agreement to pay the full fee.
• It is not possible to hold a date without payment of the booking fee.
• The full fee, plus any agreed expenses and less any booking fee paid, is payable according to the terms in your invoice.
• The following expenses and conditions relate to Talks or Workshops arranged for your group at your venue
  • Expenses –
    • Mileage is charged from WD17 4QS at 45p/mile for the first 100 and 25p/mile thereafter.
    • Accommodation & meals – dependent upon the timing of the talk/workshop
      • If an overnight stay is necessary I am happy to stay with a member of your group.
      • Should this not be possible and it is necessary to stay in a hotel or similar I am happy for you to arrange and pay for this, or to arrange it myself and claim for the cost.
      • Meals – if distances mean I will be travelling across mealtimes or if the workshop takes place across a mealtime then the following may be chargeable
      • Lunch – £7.50
      • Evening Meal -£15.00
      • Again, very happy for you to provide an appropriate meal when I am with you.
  • Changing your booking:-
    • At our discretion we may allow you to alter your booking, eg. move to a different date. However we require a minimum of 28 days’ notice.
  • Cancellations: –
    • If, for any reason, you wish to cancel this booking the following scale of fees will be payable unless a new date can be arranged to our mutual satisfaction.
      • between 90 days and 61 days – 50% of the agreed fee
      • between 60 days and 31 days – 75% of the agreed fee
      • between 30 days and the agreed date – 100% of the agreed fee
    • The non-refundable booking fee will be taken into account when working out any cancellation fee.  eg – £50 booking fee paid, cancellation fee of £45 – no additional payment required, but no refund; cancellation fee of £55 – £5 due
    • If extreme circumstances beyond our control should arise, such as weather, national emergency, illness or death in my family, I will work together with you to reschedule our booking.  If this is not possible any payments made by you to me will be refunded in full and neither party will be assessed a penalty.

Photographs –

• Any photographs taken during the talk/workshop can, with the permission of the participants involved, be used by Sheena for advertising or other purposes
• Please indicate beforehand if this might cause problems for an individual.
• You can also take photos of your work and of my samples, but please ask other participants for their permission to take photos of them/their work.
• We would love it if you share photos of your class/workshop/talk via Social Media. Please ask about useful tags.  Please always acknowledge the maker/designer of all quilts that you share in this way and always name Sheena/Green Man Quilts.

Materials or equipment for a Course or Workshop

• A full materials list will be provided in the course or workshop information.
• Sewing machines and any other equipment brought to the venue must be in good working order and use is at the tutor’s discretion. For workshops taking place away from GMQ premises, it is the responsibility of the person hiring the hall to arrange PAT testing in accordance with their hire agreement.

General Terms & Conditions

• I would appreciate that participants arrive on time and behave in a sensible and appropriate manner towards others and our Tutors.
• We will not tolerate abuse of any kind at Green Man Quilts.
• Please note that all our Classes/Workshops are for adults aged 18 or over.
• At no time can I be held responsible for any on-costs (eg travel or accommodation) that you or other participants may incur.
• By booking a course, talk or workshop, you agree to the Terms & Conditions as set above. Please read carefully.
