Roses for Ralphie Digital Quilt Pattern

This is a dramatic quilt which showcases a very traditional block in a modern setting.  It utilises some key design concepts of the modern movement – large areas of negative space, variations in scale and nice clean lines. 

The lovely thing about this design is that it can be completed in the “usual” way or as Quilt as You Go, thus allowing you a great many options in terms of quilting, no matter what size of sewing machine you have.

The blocks used are a lovely shaded Log Cabin in 3 sizes (8”, 12” and 16”) and some Negative Space blocks.

Modern designs look fabulous in solids or in low density or textured patterns – fabrics where the print is low key, perhaps in a variety of tones rather than different colours, and so looks basically plain but with a bit of pizzazz!

This quilt is approximately 55” square – a fabulous size for decorating a bed, snuggling under on the sofa or hanging on a wall.
