Improv Sampler

Hand dyed Improv Sampler

Oh My Golly Gosh!! Such excitement coming up! Come and join me at Thirkelow Cottage and Studio – Arts and Crafts Courses for a quilting get-away, where I will be teaching my fabulous Modern Improv Sampler wall hanging. Over three days, learn the skills to design and create a unique piece of art.

This is a 3-day taught retreat to create a modern improvised sampler approx 22″ square, with teaching from 10am Saturday to 3pm Monday. You will devise your own grid layout, improvise around a number of traditional blocks (or entirely design your own!), create blocks in different sizes and investigate the addition of block borders. We will look at layering up and quilting, and adding a binding or facing and hanging sleeve.
You will get a printed tutorial with lots of photographs because there is nothing worse than trying to make a second project after the workshop and forgetting a key step!   There will be lots of individual tuition during the weekend. There will be laughs, hard work, sleep, more laughs, food, more laughs, more hard work and friends made.
I think you’ll love it!
Photos are of previous students’ work.
Thirkelow Cottage is near Buxton in the Peak District.  The course runs from Sat 1st October to Monday 3rd October. You can be resident or not.
To book contact Thirkelow direct. And if you want more information about the course, give me a shout.
